For all the inlanders applications will be transferred to CIO, Sydney Nova Scotia first. Once the initial assessments are done, then it will be transferred to LVO for final decision.

what does mean LVO?
London visa office
if Local visa office means ottawa? or something else

LVO means Local Visa Office.
If you are in india then it will be New Delhi office.
If you are in canada then it can be Ottawa, Vegreville etc.

Hi. Baji81. When did you know your case has been transferred to Ottawa. Meanwhile, will I be required to provide RCMP record if my file has been transferred to LVO?

Not sure if CPC LVO emails people when file reaches them. Certainly i never received email from them.
After i asked personally, they told its with them at CPC Ottawa.
They did ask me to get RCMP with fingerprints done and so i did...

Honestly speaking, after reading bunch of forums, it goes 2 ways.

1. CIO asks to get RCMP done in initial stage.
2. CPC LVO asks to get RCMP done. Only happens when Medical is passed stage and BG is in progress.

When its the 2nd option that means LVO is doing security clearance and its very close to finalization. Can be 5 days or 4 weeks to PPR, no one could tell exactly.

No, I don't think they will mail the applicant when the file moves to LVO(Local Visa Office). The only we can track the movement by monitoring the BG status. If the BG status is showing as In Progress then we can assume the file is in LVO. There are some recent incidents which conveys us that there is a possibility of getting PPR without any update after medical. The other way to find out whether our file location by sending an enquiry email about Visa office.

That's January 7th.

Due to the change in status format, I'm not sure what should be the next step.
I know background used to change from NS to NN.
Not sure what it is now ???

Based on the forum discussions and some of my friends incidents, we can assume that RCMP request will come to us after medical and BG initial stage.

Not Applicable - In Progress - Not Applicable - In Progress
Not applicable - next step to conduct BG - Not Applicable - In Progress.

My BG went from "Not Applicable" to "We are processing your Background check" when my medicals went to passed.

Where am I on this timeline? I never had the status for BG as "next step to conduct BG"

That's unusual actually. Have you applied before?
