You status should change soon then... I did my medicals on the 15th Dec and my Med status changed on the 19th Jan... Going by that logic yours should change around 3rd Feb... But remember that there is no logical pattern to what IRCC does... It really does seem that some files are just forgotten about for a few months then they move quickly though the system.
Thank you for your reply. There is some update now.
But medicals still not passed.

Any idea why it is that way for you? My medical results are fine.
I took a copy from the hospital so I know no problems.
It is just strange.

my doctor said my results are fine. i think it just has to do with the officer that is reviewing your case. he might do things differently or in a different order. there are a few more folks in this thread that have the same status updates. there is no logical pattern with case updates.

You can only apply for a BOWP if you are currently on a work permit and it is expiring in 4 months or less. Here are the full details:

yes, it will be within 4 months of expiry in Feb. But AOR would be enough? or do i have to wait for them to finish their completeness check?

AOR 5th JAN
no update for medical yet. any reason for that......

You don't have to wait. My understanding is that they won't review your BOWP application until the completeness check passes, but in terms of applying all you need is the AOR.

If I was in your boots I would apply ASAP since your work permit is expiring very soon. EDIT: (This is from understanding that your permit expires in February, your comment was a little unclear)

Keep in mind that you need to stick to the requirements of your expiring work permit. i.e if your current work permit only allows you to work for one employer, you can only work for that employer. Implied status is like a mini extension of your expiring permit until you hear back about your application for a new work permit.

Do they start background check before medical though? Or medical needs to pass first before seeing any progress on your application?
