Thanks a lot for information.

Just want to be sure. Does most of applicants have now following text in the final decision:

Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

As I have deciphered that one for Final Decision to be Not Started (because this one rarely changes to IP, instead BG used to change to IP).
Yes, most of them (medical passed) and in next stages have this same message.

Yes, even I too have the same status. :)

Then for final decision it actualy means Not Started.

Anyway, that one will not change until the moment when our passports will be stamped.

OH YES BABY!!! I GOT A BC STATUS CHANGE!!!

From NN to N/A!!!! Excellent... :P :P :P :P

While I do agree that the new wording is nicer it's still the same old C*&^ :(

If they were going to change the system why not make significant changes to make it more transparent!!!! They should show your R10 status and A11.2... Security, etc... If they just made the status similar to what we find in GCMS notes then they wouldn't need to issue so many notes in the first place.

Anyway, ANYONE figured out what NS is in this new world?

Old Vs New BG status

Not Needed at this time >>> Not Applicable
In Progress>>> We are processing your background check....
Not Started>>> The next step is to conduct a background check.

Please feel free to add if I missed anything :) :)

This is great! +1... but has anyone seen the "The next step is to conduct a background check." status up on their MyCIC page or is this just speculation?

So happy with the updates since it brought good news. But I agree looks confusing as ever.

Meds finally passed. I am CEC AOR Jan 6th.

@Nick~Nick, I am sure yours are around the corner!!

So I was playing about with the tracker and did the following analysis:

For PNP-Outland, early Jan (1-10) we have:
- 2 Medicals still pending (one with BC IP)
- 5 PPR
- 20 Medicals Passed, of which:
- 3 BC NS
- 13 BC NN
- 1 BC IP
- 3 Unknown

I was worried about being left behind but it turns out I'm in the middle of the bell curve still ;D

I have had BG In Progress since February 19. Now it says: "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

I assume that means BG is still in progress.

Thank you. This confirms there is still a difference between NS and IP.

Yes for BG, that means IP, for final decision that mean NS - at least according to the old wordings.
Or you can take it as Final decision IP, but without any added information value (means the same thing as NS before).

Hi

Today, my status show the following :

Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Background check Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made
Medicals passed

Is there a way I can update the tracker, or send the info to one of the member here ?

Wonderful so "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check." is the new NS ;D

Anyway, Andy will eventually update the status on the tracker, until then use the key provided above by Baji81 ... Basically your BC is NS (Not Started).

With this update, my status is now as follows:

Application status...................................We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility..................................We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results........................You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents...............We do not need additional documents.
Interview You do not need an interview...We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check...................................Not applicable.
Final decision..........................................Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

At least now I now my application is going through eligibility check. Is that the R10 review?
And before today my BG was NN. So, BG "Not Applicable" means "Not started"?

Thanks!

So sentence beginning in Progress means Not Started
And sentence beginning Processing, Reviewing (and what else doing with it currently) means In progress.

Nice.

At least Passed still means Passed.

My medical is still not passed. Is this common for people applying from USA? Getting a little worried now. :(

When was your AOR?

But yes, USA applicants are like inland applicants in this respect, their medicals take a long time to change (around 2 months, some go up to 3 months).
