+1(514) 937-9445 or Toll-free (Canada & US) +1 (888) 947-9445
Well, to play the devil's advocate, most people (incl. me) invest significant time, energy, money and thought into a PR application - it isn't done on a whim where you do it and put it in cold storage for 6 months and then once you get your PR, you flip a coin and decide whether you want to move or not.

Moreover for majority of the people, moving to Canada IS a big deal and I don't blame them for "caring" about their application (it might be because they have a complication / are not well versed with the language to understand nitty gritties etc.) and the fact that they want to be absolutely certain they are not rejected... it is NOT being wimpy. No system is perfect and I personally would also like to see the PR process become more user friendly and transparent for the applicants which will help them understand where they stand viz. a viz in the overall process (something the current system lacks) which this forum does help with to some extent. There was a news article where Canadian minister accepted that they still have a lot to learn from US, Aus and UK systems.

That being said, we must take the system as it is and that is why this forum / groups are there for people to network and make informed choices when something untoward happens. I personally feel that if CIC has provided us channels to access information and we should, in good conscience, make use of them to the extent of not being a drain on the resources - for every 9 people that uselessly call CIC, even if 1 person is able to get something of benefit out of it, I think that is justified.

It is understandable for people to be anxious about their applications, and I am too. I'm in the same boat; I have high hopes and dreams riding on this, and have also put a lot of time and money into it. But this doesn't justify constant complaining, and certainly doesn't justify wasting the time of cic with pointless questions. I don't agree that 9 out of 10 people wasting time and resources (undermining the efficiency of the service) is justified at all. They are probably adding to our waiting times in the long run. However, the 1 in 10 you mention, who have a genuine reason, yes that is reasonable.

Where I agree with you is that the service being provided is poor by modern standards. Not enough clear information, a terrible website and online form, and a total lack of transparency and user friendliness. These things are generating anxiety for people who have a lot riding on this. It's a bit of an embarrassment in some ways. But it is what it is, and a lot of the people complaining do not appear to have strong reasons for doing so. They are waiting for the outcome. They need patience.

I've got an additional document request for the second time. This time they ask for "military records".
Military Records: Please provide a certified copy of Military records. If you were exempt, please provide official proof of military exemption from the relevant authority. This must be received at this office by: 2017/06/09.
I am coming from a country that military service is obligatory. I've always postponed my service because I was studying, etc. I don't have any military records. Only thing I can get is that is a document that says I have to do my military service in 2018 from the Ministry of Defence .
Do you think that this is enough?

Thanks.

Alright guys, lets not continue this discussion any more on CIC processing being fair/unfair.

Let us come to terms with the fact that it is a process with steps and each step is sequential. We can only anticipate how it works.

Let us use this forum space to help out fellow applicants and answers their doubts and concerns.

Hi!

Did you order GCMS notes? If yes, check for security part, if you see security screening there, then you are one of people (including me) who was chosen for in-depth profile screening. It might take a while

Hello Daria,

I did order GCMS notes and got them in the last week of May. I checked the admissibility section in the notes and it says the following:

i think it should be further in your notes. I have it somewhere in the middle and one page is withheld according to a privacy act. But if you looked through your notes and nothing is erased/withheld/etc, then you have nothing to worry about

I have mailed my passport on 26th of May 2017 i was delivered on 29th may 2017 and that too i can check it just from Canada post tracking no message in my cic account or no communication via email. How many days they usually take to send back the passport after stamping?
