hello seniors,

I need your help, does calling cic frequently affect your application in bad way.
the reason I asked is I called cic this mrng and the agent told me that you called on May 2nd and there is no change from then.
i think she meant i am calling very frequently.
I hope I did not screw up.

It shouldn't impact it negatively, however calling them does get logged in the system. Additionally, calling them every second day makes the call agents inefficient and prevents them from responding to someone who may have a more critical question. Maybe dial the calling back? A lot of folks are in the same boat, waiting for a response from CIC

I am planning to give them a call on May 27th ( if I don't hear back on anything). I will also be ordering my GCMS notes after May 19th ( 3 months after I applied)

I know that the general timeline is
AOR, medicals, background check

Can someone write about the details (like) in terms of if medicals and background check happen
in parallel ?

Also interpretations of status changes would be helpful (like not required, processing etc)

There was interview somewhere with a former immigration officer. One thing she said, that if somebody was checking or urging about application, it prompted her to do more detailed check (just to make sure, that the person was not hiding something). So it can lead to longer processing time.

I have determined that I will not call them anymore and wait for my turn, at least it will give chance to someone who really wants to talk to cic.
