I submitted the application on 15th Feb. The status for medicals says not needed at this time though I had uploaded those. Is this normal?

it is. Depends on the category you've applied under, it takes from three weeks to three months to see "Passed" there

Hello Guys,

Yesterday i have received an update from IRCC that i have passed the Medical Exam and My Background check is in progress and next step is to conduct background check and even under the final decision , it says in Progress. So does that mean that i will receive the decision soon ?

Looking forward for your inputs.

Actually your Background check has changed from NN to NS. Next step would be IP. Once you BC changes to IP, you will see this message there:"We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Hi everyone... Got a ghost email from CIC this morning. I kept checking my account to see if any changes would come up, but nothing changed... Still waiting for medical to show passed. 35 days since AOR.

Actually, a similar thing happened to me today. I've gotten an email from CIC, but there was no changes at all, until I logged in again (few minutes later).

Nevertheless, medical passed today (AOR Feb 13, 2017)!

On that note, can someone please remind me of the original background check message? Mine says "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check.", but I'm not sure if that's the new or the old one

I have the same message, so I'm guessing it has not changed. Congrats on the medical pass, though!
