Wow - that's rather depressing!

Yeah I honestly think that a good travel history is an asset rather than a problem. Because it means you have a long history and are verified on multiple databases - as opposed to just being a random unknown person who's only lived in one place always and has only one PCC to verify them.

Though I still can't imagine what they would need 10 months for :( ... I'll try and follow more SS threads. Thanks for your update.
contact @strength2 with the screenshot of your gcms. yours gcms are missing two more activities which indicate that your ss has started. right now i think yours is not started and this is the first such case i have seen as every gcms note i have seen so far, the two additional activities whoch i think are meant for csis and cbsa are logged in ti he system as soon as the not started one is entered.

But on the other hand, its been Not Started for two months. During this time, I was also asked for a Schedule A in mid-June. On page 42 under Admissibilities, it says the same re. Security Screening and Status - Not started. But its been assigned to someone with a due date of July 2. Clearly, the due date has passed, so don't know what that means. But I'm inclined to... or really want to...believe that it has at least started. My BC has been in IP2 since June 3rd.

Is there a way to verify whether it has started?

If you have security screening under activity not started but with an updated date thats the date your file was sent to CSIS and CBSA to start ss. New value is whited out but it should be received by cbsa for example. It definitely didnt start before they recieved your schedule a. But in mycic it shows 3rd june that should be the day the officer found out they need to request schedule a.

Ok! PPR Received! And btw if your from the USA you do NOT need to send your official passport on the mail but just photocopies.

AOR 2/19/17
IP2: 8/4/17
PPR: 8/12/17!

Good Luck to all! For me it was exactly one week prior to the 6 month mark and on a Saturday lol.

Thanks @strength2 - yes it seems like some information is whited out under Security. And there is an updated date. Under Notes, it says the file is under process from 6 July. That's the most recent update - so I guess, that is when the SS may have started.

Thank you for your helpful comment!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I will be landing tomorrow. I am in the FSW category so I need $12,300 in my bank. I showed this when I applied for PR by sending off 6 months bank statements.

However, since I sent my application I have had to spend some of the money. I came home from Canada to the UK and did not have consistent employment as I was here for a family emergency.

I have $10,200 in my TD chequing account and I have $2,900 on a TD credit card.

I have $2,200 in cash from money I've pulled out of UK accounts / gifts. I'll be turning up with this $2,200 cash upon landing - is this OK to do this?

I hear that a lot of people don't get asked about finances but some do. Any advice on what to do will be most appreciated! I could...

1) provide the last month's statement (printed screen shot) for my TD chequing account and not show the balance page (which will have my credit card balance on), and show the rest in cash

2) Get my friend in Canada who owes me money to transfer some money over to me today in order to top my chequing balance up. (worried that a last min transaction before my flight will look too obvious?).

3) Show the balance page with the topped up funds from my friend and also turn up with the cash.

If anyone can shed any light on the landing procedure and what they could ask to see / if they even do ask, that will really help. Thanks!

Hi,

I will be completing 6th Month mark on 17th February. I got my 3rd GCMS notes and there is no much difference between my 1st GCMS notes and 3rd one. My PR application category is FSW inland. My medical passed on 11th April and criminality passed on 14th May. My Eligibility changed to recommended passed on 15th May. Last ACTIVITIES, APPLICATION NOTES or ADMISSIBITIES on GCMS notes was seen on 15th May only. After that, there is no activity at all since 15th May. Why such a delay in my application? What could be the reasons!! I am really tired of waiting. I called them many times, emailed them and ordered GCMS. Nothing is working out. I am planning to escalate these issues to immigration minister after 17th August. Is that good idea?

Let me know other member comments.

Hi - I am February 1st AOR. And I just got my GCMS notes that indicate a security screening. I don't know if its in process, since its been indicated as Not Started from June 3. That is also the date when my Background Check went into IP 2.

I am also so tired of waiting! Its been 192 days now :(

Who did you call to ask about the security screening? Did they give you any timeline for it?

Its so frustrating, because I thought I would be one of the easiest candidates to clear - clear, well documented employment with international orgs, educations, scores, etc. And a travel history that's clearly employment related and easily verifiable.
I am sorry to hear that but unfortunately they are strict about certain nationalities :(
I called CIC and they told me ss is under processing.

Reading so many posts lately regarding file under security screening. I tried going through my notes thrice but couldn't find it. Can anyone give some pointers on how to find if your case is under security screening.

My case history -

AOR - 14 feb, CEC Inland,
Indian national residing in Canada
Med passed - 12 March
BGS - Ip1 ..we are processing your background check since Mar 12 and no change since then.
Was requested RCMP on May 1 which I submitted same day and since then no updates.

According to GCMS notes created 5 July -
Eligibility- Recommended pass
Criminality- In progress
Security- Not started

Last notes on my GCMS is May 1 and since then no notes or updates till now. Also around half a page is white out under Associations with Section 16(1)(c).

Also have technical issue since early June - Additional documents required to process.
But they confirmed on email and calls that nothing required from my side.

Does anyone think i could be under security screening and what exactly on GCMS can indicate that.
Thanks

If it helps to know, my SS only appeared after my eligibility was passed/met - just a few days after. So maybe you will find out later if you have to go through SS or not. Eligibility is first recommended passed and then passed/met.
