I have never heard (till now) anyone being asked bout the funds at landing.

If you have to, Take those funds in 3:3:4 ratio.

30% Traveler Cheques (there is a fee)
30% DD in your name (takes a month approx to clear)
40% cash. (forex will be expensive)

Another option is:

You can open a bank account with a Canadian Bank here in India(Google Canada Banks in India - RBS, Scotia to name a few). You can put the entire amount in that bank account and once you land you will have your money. First transaction is tax free(enquire about this). So you can put in extra if you want to. You can take the bank statement of that bank and present it to the authorities once you land (if they ask). You will also get a credit card. This option is safer as you dont hve to carry large amount of cash and cheques (could get lost).

hope this helps

+1

I am waiting for my Spouse's passport since August 10th my friend.

Hello Guys did any one call NDVO to check the status?? If yes can you provide the number to me please. Thanks
As i have crossed 6 months time line. AOR 24th Feb,

Hopefully, all pending FEB-AOR's should receive PPR's by end of this week. After that, it's time for MAR-AOR's like me :'(

Let there be a PPR flood tomorrow ;D

Hi,
If the Prinicipal applicant land alone.
And family lands after a month without principal candidate.
Would that be fine? Or they have to land with principal candidate only.
Regards,
Amit

Hey guys!

CEC inland
AOR Feb 10th
Schedule A request: mid-April
Bg in prog: July 15
Bg not needed: July 17
VO: Ottawa

I was on 5 and half months from my AOR and then my Background went in progress. Same day I got an e-mail from CIC requesting to upload one more document and the deadline given was September 15th. After 2 days Background changed to: Not needed. I uploaded the document after 2 days since the day they sent me that e-mail and haven't heard anything from CIC since then. Today is 6 months and 19 days since my AOR.

Was anybody else asked to upload any documents just before 6 months from AOR passed?
How long will I have to wait?

Thanks for your answers! :)
