Congratulation on your PPR man...can you tell me when your BG check went In Progress- Did you receive notification in your private email? Also when you received PPR, was it pvt email notification to check CIC or PPR came direct to your email?

Hey guys,

I am asking this question on behalf of a friend who has a March AOR date. he is an Indian and has is WP/Visa in Canada till 2017. He is expecting to receive his PPR anywhere from sept- nov. The thing is he has to travel (in nov) and has already bought flight tickets - it's a trip he cannot avoid. His Questions are:

1. when he does sends his pasport to CIC , will they cancel all his visas and replace it with a single entry to be used only during flag-poling ?
2. does he have to go only by road to get his PR stamped ? can he fly in ?
3. If he gets his Passport request before he flies out , can he call CIC requesting them to extend the time to send in the passport.
4. can he fly in and out of canada once he gets his passport back as is waiting for the PR card?

any help is appreciated.. thanks a lot !

1. when he does sends his pasport to CIC , will they cancel all his visas and replace it with a single entry to be used only during flag-poling ?
===>Yes.
2. does he have to go only by road to get his PR stamped ? can he fly in ?
===>He can fly in with an additional document.
3. If he gets his Passport request before he flies out , can he call CIC requesting them to extend the time to send in the passport.
===>He has to submit passport withing 30 days. He can apply for permanent residency travel document:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp
4. can he fly in and out of canada once he gets his passport back as is waiting for the PR card?
Yes, see answer 3.

Hey thanks for the reply.

in pt. 2. what additional document can he obtain to be able to fly in ? did u mean travel document or any other document ? and i am assuming once he gets his single entry visa stamped , and then exits canada , he has one year until he re enters canada to get his passport stamped , right ?

thanks !

Hi
My bg went in progress at 10:00am ist and I didn't get any automated email for it. I came to know once I checked my profile. I got the ppr automated notification email on my email address at 4:00pm ist. So I checked my cic profile and ppr letter was there.

Hi friends,

I need a little guidance here. After I got my PPR, I submitted my passport to LVO and noticed that in MYCIC system, there is button asking to upload passport. The same as when we are asked for extra documents. Does it occur to you as well? Does it mean that after VO returns my passport, I need to scan it and upload? Thanks!

Any PPR this morning from NDVO??

My application went to 'In-Progress' yesterday.

Does the BG In Progress (after months of AOR) mean that the Eligibility is met?
