Thanks for sharing here. From your agent's note, everything looks normal so far. It seems that there are eligibility and security left unchecked. I wonder based on what document do they decide these two and how much longer do they finish.

I'm guessing that eligibility is checked based on the employment details (especially the reference letters) that you provided while applying. Since criminality is vetted by the local police, I'm guessing that security relates to an international criminal record (if only I had such notoriety!). Of course I could be completely wrong here -- hope someone else can answer this better than I did.

You should be, yes. I've always had emails informing me when there are changes.

Thanks for that insight! I supposed that it'd be transferred to LVO because I see a lot of people here are getting employer referral-check calls from NDVO.

IMHO, they transfer the majority of applications to LVO when most of the checks are done, closer to the final stage. But based on the cases I saw, it happens not to everyone. Part of the applications goes to LVO on earlier stages and they tend to be processed faster (that is my impression).
I almost crossed 4 months since AOR and I believe my case is still in Ottawa. And most likely will be processes by Ottawa till the final decision. Month ago my application was on the same stage as yours based on GCMS notes. I will order the second notes next week. Will see if something has changes during the last 1,5 months

I think security is stuff like links to terrorism or being on an INTERPOL wanted persons lists. Does anyone else have any details on this? I don't think there is such a thing as an international criminal record, in Europe at least any crimes in any country are recorded on the criminal record held by your country of citizenship.

I completed my EE profile on 29/Dec/2015, got my ITA on 06/Jan/2016, and AOR on 01/Feb/2016. I applied for GCMS Notes on 01/May/2016.

The last and the final stage is the security. This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), International Police (INTERPOL), Criminal Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here. Number of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, past law enforcement or military record, Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc. If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', the case goes into a 'spin'. Then the file might go to the local Police/intelligence agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over within 1-2 months. However, a point to be noted is that the applicant can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason. For some people the security has a quick turn around. But in the last two weeks a lot of applicants are stuck at this stage.

At the final review, when the security results come in, the PPR is issued.

Look at the brighter side...NDVO is processing cases at a decent pace. They wont hold your file for long. ;D
