Police certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police clearance certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to determine a person's admissibility to enter Canada.

Certain countries will not issue a police certificate, or provide the certificate directly to you. If this applies to you please provide a letter of explanation in lieu of a police certificate.

You will be advised if you are required to obtain a police certificate for Canada."

Does Proof Of Financial report applicable only for FSW and not CEC right?
As far as know, for CEC applicants, no pof is required. Correct.

The pof is required only in case for FSW, and it can also be waived if you have filed your application under FSW and you have a valid job offer.

However as EE CEC applicant (October 2015) CIC application asked for POF, so I submitted it.

Some people said you can write down a letter stating as CEC (or as currently working in Canada) you don't need POF, quoting proper sources, but I'll recommend to provide POF as requested.

POF is not required for CEC, but if you answer the question with "how much money are you planning to bring to Canada" with an amount greater than zero, you will be asked for proof of that amount.

Just enter 0 for this question and the request for POF will disappear.

Before you do so, verify that you have definitely been invited under CEC. Remember, if you qualied for both, you used to be invited under FSW. In that case, you must have the minimum funds.

Good to know, yes I answered some amount of money higher than zero.

I think I didn't qualified for FSW because CLB was 6 or 6.5 instead 7, so just CEC ITA was sent.

Hello sir, can I have a question about the supporting document that you listed in the post. If the pay stubs (or reference letter) are not in English, is it necessary to get a translator in Canada, or it is ok to have it translated outside canada? Not sure what "certified" translator mean by CIC. And do you know any website of the translator in Canada that are recognized by CIC. Thanks

It depends on a country - like in many countries its called a notary translator - people can notirize the translation, put their licence number and signature, with a stamp at the bottom or on a attached page.

In Canada certified translators are those who are certified through a provincial association, these associations are:

Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA)

Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC)

Association of Translators,Terminologists and Interpreters of Manitoba (ATIM)

Corporation of Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters of New Brunswick (CTINB)

Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia (ATINS)

Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO)

Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan (ATIS)
