A number of early AOR December PNP-I applicants had their BG IP2 in mid May. Assuming the BG check takes 1-1.5 months in average and knowing that PNP files are processed in batches, we should expect to see PPRs no earlier than mid June IMO.

What I don't understand is why background checks for CEC take days, but I-PNP take 1-1.5 months. Surely they are the same checks?
So frustrating! Wish I'd never heard of the PNP programme. I'd be a permanent resident by now if I hadn't bothered with it!

Seems like the two departments are having a spat

From my understading, IP2 means security passed and we are expecting PPR any time from now

Looks like my posts are being deleted for some reason!?

I am reposting an earlier post:

I just created a simple spreadsheet to track IP2 to PPR for Dec-Jan PNP-Inland applicants. Link to the spreadsheet is in my signature. If you want to be added in, send me a pm or reply to my post with your info.

IP2 means security check is in progress. IP1 means criminality check is in progress.

We have seen trends where CEC applicants are issued PPR on the same day, their BG changed to IP2. So, It's hard to say what each status change means and what exactly happens in the background?

These trends are not 100% certain. What I mentioned was what IP1&2 indicate in the majority of cases. There are always those deviant cases which do not follow the common trend. For example, there have been candidates who received PPR while their BG was NA.

Hey Amir,
Great job on the tracker.
Please change my AoR date to January 05, 2017, currently it is listed Jan 17, 2017 on the tracker.

Thanks!

Did any one received GCMS notes since last week? If yes, let me know about your Group#. It can be found on the 1st page of your notes.

My security passed on the same day with IP2. So I am not sure which comes first, security passed or IP2

How do you know that your security was passed?
Called them last week and agent told me last update on my case is security passed. Which is the same date that I saw IP2. I think CEC and PNP should process the same security check. The reason why CEC get IP2 and PPR on the same day but PNP-I not is because PNP-I are processed in batches. So from my understanding, IP2 is either your security passed already or most people's security could be passed within one day. I prefer the first assumption, which IP2 means your security passed already
Also called them 3 weeks ago and agent told me they are processing my security check. So at least on my specific case, IP2 is not start point of security check, it is the date that security passed

BTY, if IP2 is the start point of security check, how to explain most CECs get IP2 and PPR at the same day? it is not minority of CEC having that pattern, if you follow Jan thread, I would say 80%+ of them IP2 and PPR the same day over last 2 months
