Hi, Just noticed two different messages for the first time change of Back ground check after the medical passed.

some gets 'your application is in progress. the next step is to conduct the back ground check' and some get ' we are doing the background check and we will send you a message if we need more information'. I got the second one, anybody can tell me that Is there any difference between these two messages

I think the first one is not started. 2nd is "in progress". I got 2 messages. first one when they requested my docs. Second one after I uploaded it Medical went passed.

Mine moved from first option to not applicable..
I think 2 options means they are looking into your file which a good sign..

I don't want to break our hope but the case mentioned in tracker was marked as FSW in Dec thread.

The data on tracker might not be accurate:
https://myimmitracker.com/ca/trackers/december-2016-aor-permanent-residency-tracker/cases/case-12401

It is marked as #86 in Dec thread and it shows as FSW-O:

I think we Dec PNP-I guys might need to wait for Nov guys get ppr news then we could start waiting for ours.

Good luck and speedy ppr for us all

My understanding so far is that your application would go through background check twice. Once at the CIO and the 2nd time is at the LVO. When your file is finished at the CIO, BG check goes from IP to NA, then it goes to IP again when your file arrives at the LVO. However for some people people their statuses only change once. I guess it was just their statuses weren't properly/timely updated.

Hi guys,

Any idea how come my background check status is "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check. " while my medical has not passed yet? Thx.
