I have a questions for them?

Do you guys want to wait for 1 year thing to come in force and apply under that category or you want to to go ahead and apply with existing rules ..

I will complete my 2 yrs by Dec 24th. I have everything ready, but just thinking if I should wait or submit by then.
Also, after 24th there are holidays and even if I submit after that, courier will deliver only in Jan 2013.

Are there any over night or next day services to Sydney NS?

I would want to recommend to wait for at least a week and apply in 1st of January. The issue that you can fall in is that if they announce the new rules for CEC effective 2013...you may have to fill in new forms / provide new document ..etc etc ..which we are not sure at this point of time.

I am sure, as you are ready, dont want to refill forms and by 24 you will have completed 2 years so the best bet would be to apply in December and make sure that your package reaches to them in December only ...

Am assuming they will give a notice few days ahead if they are changing the process from Jan 1st. If not, they cannot say on Jan 1st that applications received from today fall under new category documents. That puts a lot of confusion for applicants whose documents are in the post by then.

Anyone who completes 2 years in Dec should make sure that the application reaches CIC well within 31st of Dec. Please do expect CIC to give notice of new changes well in advance (earliest by mid Dec) to be effective Jan 2013.

Andy, you mentioned "(earliest by mid Dec)". Even if this happens, it would be a lot of relief. Atleast you know to wait and watch. I was wondering they would declare in Jan about the changes starting from Jan.

In contrast to all of you, I'm really needing this December, because if the proposed regulations come into effect, I won't be eligible for this class anymore ???
That's why I'm so passionately looking forward to have a progress on this application before the new year!
And in case that my application is returned for any reason, I have to say goodbye to this category :-X

Very bleak possibility that CIC will announce changes in Jan to be effective in Jan. It will not be practical enough and will throw applications 'in transit' out of gear. I am sure there will be some buffer time for it to be effective from the date of announcement.

I agree with Andy... if the proposed changes for CEC is going to come in force effective Jan 1 , 2013, they must announce it by mid Dec.. Its wait and watch time ...but I would still recommend any one who has completed 2 year in Dec ....to file CEC in Dec only ....
