Anyone who applied for a visitor visa, while waiting for his PPR ?

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone of you who already got his AOR, and waiting for PPR, applied in the mean time for a visitor visa, please ?

My husband, who is a dependent in our PR application applied for a TRV and received it just recently. We both live outside Canada and are about 3 months into our PR application.

You guys got 6 months visitor visa ? you applied from your country right ?
Also, please, for the question where they ask where are you going to be: Hotel, friend ... what did you put ?

Visitor visa, yes, and he applied in his country. I didn't need to apply as I am from a visa exempt country. He is traveling to Canada on business so he had a letter from the office (in his country) sort of vouching for him. That way he could prove a tie to his country (which is kind of crazy since he has a PR in process).
Anyhow, we made sure that everything we included in his TRV application exactly matches the info in a PR application. We disclosed the PR application and stated the application number and everything.

I think if you have pretty good ties to your home country (like a full time job etc) you should be fine. If you had travelled extensively before, that helps too. For his application we included all the possible documents we could think of, even a bank statement which was not asked for. We included ticket and hotel reservations (unpaid) and name and contact of his business partner in Canada. Also we scanned all of his previous passports which have visas to other western countries. He has a pretty good travel record so that was helpful.

My point is, the more info you include, the better. You need to prove to them you are not going to overstay and if you have a good track record, include every single piece of paper you can find to support it.

Its not a business visa, you just mean, he asked a document from his current company, that allows him to leave for some days, am I right ? it was a visitor visa,
did you include flight booking as well ?

Could I ask what's how long visa he got ? 6months or 5 years ?

There is no such thing as business visa in Canada. It is all a visitor visa category, but his purpose of travelling is business. He got a letter from the office saying something like: we are sendinghim to Canada to work on so and so project with so and so.

Yes, he included flight booking (only reservation, not a paid ticket).

He got the visa for 6 months.
