Anyone travelling from Delhi to Toronto in Air Canada on May 6th ? I am looking for a company for my parents who travelling first time. Please DM me.
Really appreciate if someone can help my parents in flight and after landing in immigration.

Anyone here can help ?
i would like to share my experience..when i came for landing in 2019, i happen to meet two old ladies who was also from my state…we were in the same flight n adjacent seats…they didn’t even speak english..upon arrival at pearson airport they asked. me if i could help them n i said yes(i already helped them filling those arrival forms in flight), at the immigration point the officer asked me if we are same family for which i said no, n i’m helping them more like a transalator as they don’t know english n how to do these stuffs..for this the officer replied if u r not family u can’t help, n if u still do it your immigration also will be in trouble! so i had to step back

what i have to tell you is that, than waiting for someone’s help, please explain everything in detail to your mom(tell her she can ask for a translator), secondly at immigration PRs n citizens goes in one line n visitors are in another line(even if someone here volunteers to help they have to be a visitor, n also to be in airport at the same time as your mom!), there are plenty of youtube videos available abt immigration process in the airport you are landing, show that to your mom in advance n let her have an idea abt what to expect n were to navigate

All the best

Thanks, and yes that make sense, I did write a letter and explain everything in that, they will carry that with them. And I also read about this that no-one can be randomly be a translator (any X passenger), they have official translator at airport.
Thanks for the detail message, appreciated.

yes n u can also write down your contact number in that letter n ask them to call u if needed, if your mom is coming with supervisa ask her to be ready with insurance and return ticket(if u have purchased) n if trv then just the return ticket…it shouldn’t be a problem, daily 100s of such passengers are going through immigration :)

Hey, it was very easy and smooth. I did extra preparation but it was kind of waste of time.

At immigration they got help from Hindi translator, even my mom landed with medical surveillance form, but it was all good and quick.

In letter I mentioned, my address, contact info, mention about we will take care of medical surveillance, mention about they have return ticket, and most important they have eng lang barrier. That's all.

Get some international calling plan, we took Airtel. Fido also provide sim card in India but review are not so good. Airtel international plan worked very well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for the quick response! did you write the letter as yourself or as your mom? did you ask for translator in the letter?

I am writing somwthing like this

My name is <My Father's Name> and my wife's name is <NAME>. We are here to land as Permanent residents of Canada. We received confirmation of permanent residence under the Parents and Grandparents program.

We cannot speak english. We can only speak the south Indian language "TELUGU". My son (MY NAME) can assist as a translator if you can reach him on his phone: <NUMBER>.

We are going to stay with our Son & daughter-in-law. Below is their residential address.

<ADDRESS>

We are only bringing my wife's gold jewelry at the moment.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sorry for delay.

No, I wrote that letter for them. It goes something like this. If they have barrier in Eng then I think letter should come from us.

They both have language barrier in English and French, so I would like to explain all the required information in this letter for Canada Border Services Agency and Immigration officers. My parent’s first language is Hindi, so it will be great if you can please provide them a translator in case you may have any further questions.

Father – <Name> passport no: seat no:
Mother – <Name >passport no: Seat no:

They have downloaded the ArriveCan app and filled all the info before taking flight. And they are fully vaccinated as well.

Staying at: <Address>

Medical Surveillance Undertaking: <Info>

Super Visa insurance: <Info> <Policy #>

My contact number, email id.

That is all, hope this help you.
