Dear, I have also got 5.5 2nd time, kindly ask her to sit again in examination if she has time.Becuase now a days VO rejects cases on Ilets lower score 99 %

VO are not rejecting applicants with low IELTS score & definitely not if below 99%.

Their assessment is based on the fact that what is the job of the applicant. For e.g. an applicant in 4131 (College & other vocational Instructors) needs 'High' proficiency. An applicant in lets say 7371 -Crane operator, is not expected to converse much in English. So even if this applicant scores a 'Low' proficiency, overall he should be able to secure 67 points & he will be through.

So it depends on your NOC & job duties. People with highly interactive jobs NOC's will be expected to score atleast 'moderate' if not 'high'.

Actually it is for the benefit of the applicant. Poor english skills will make it only that much more difficult to get a job !

Still waiting for ours, although won't know if it arrived today until about 4.30pm when my wife gets back from work! Someone else from another forum took their test on the same day as her (different centre) and hasn't got results yet - so it does seem very postal-service reliant.

Really hoping for the results by tomorrow at the latest so we can mail our application on Saturday.
Will let you know as soon as we get them!

Wayne.

My husband is yet to pick up his result. The traffic here in Lagos is hectic. Will share as soon as it is in.

Best of luck.

Hi All,

I have one doubt. Do we stand to achieve comparitively good score if we appear through IDP instead of British Council in India?

Anyone having experience of taking exams from both the bodies i.e. IDP and British Council.

Sati,

It's a myth that many believe to be true that IDP test takers score better than the BC test takers. IELTS is a standardized test and no matter which center you take it at, the questions will be the same. As a matter of fact, even a center in a different country would be conducting the test on the basis of the same questions, for listening, reading and writing. The only questions that will differ for all the test takers on the same date would be the speaking questions. As long as you can converse in English fairly good, you should not worry about the speaking test either.
