Hi Seniors,

I heard CIC was accepting EPF as proof fund previously but not under express entry system.

Is that true?

Has any one shown EPF (Employee Provident Fund) as proof of fund under express entry system ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Ravi.

!!!!!!IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION!!!!!!

I had raised a CSE last month to Delhi Visa Office (India) asking them if EPF can be used as proof of funds. To my surprise, this morning, received a mail from them telling that , YES, EPF can be used as Proof of Funds.

I have added the screenshot in my google drive. You can view it by clicking on the link below.

Somebody might find this information useful. So, I'm posting it here.

Please note that I got this information from the Canadian High Commission in India. This response might hold good only for Indian applicants.

Hi Raj,

Thanks for the info. It will be helpful for so many.

Do you know that we can consider both employee and employer contribution or should we consider only the employee contribution?
Any idea on this..

Thanks
Kamesh

Both Employer and Employee contribution. You can show them the amount that is in Provident fund (there is also a pension fund attached to this but I don't think you can show that amount).

I have included the EPF statement which I received from my employer at the end of financial year as POF. I didn't have any issue and they have accepted it. Although, I didn't provide EPF alone as POF but included my Indian account balance and Canada Bank balance in TD(I just printed them from online and not signed by anyone from TD as i am not in Canada). Overall I didn't have any issue using EPF.

Cool!! Even I am not going to show EPF alone. I'm planning on showing EPF with a FD balance (FD contains most of the funds).

That's really great information.... + 1 for you...

Hello there,

I got PT notification from Ontario on 4 December 2015. Currently I am preparing my application and I need help from you guys.

I have 3 family members including myself as the primary applicant. The min fund requirement for me I believe is $18,260.

I have got about $9700 cash from the encashment of my and my wife's savings bond and month deposit schemes.

My wife is going to sell some of her gold jewelleries at the price of about $2700.

I have an employment provident fund with my employer which currently has more than $6000

My wife also have a provident fund with her employee, but we haven't taken the amount into consideration yet.

Thus, 9700+2700+6000=$18400

Please suggest if the sale of jewellery and EPF are legitimate source of funds for my application.

Thanks in advance.

You can most definitely show the funds after you sell jewellery but I am not very sure about the EPF for Ontario. The information that I got was from the New Delhi Visa Office in India; I am not sure if that will hold good for Ontario as well.

Thank you Raj for your quick response. I wish I could know for sure if EPF is accepted for Ontario Nomination Streams.
