Last week, my wife's eCas was updated to "in progress", so if it makes anyone feel better there are still a few people in the visa offices still working. My wife's application and passport are at the embassy in Beijing, btw.
Can anyone explain what "in progress" refers to? Does this only mean they just opened the application package? Her passport and application have been sitting around since Febuary, so, like everyone else on this forum we are frustrated and worried. :-X My China visa expires in a few months and I don't think authorities here will be too keen on granting me a visa for a fourth straight year.
Btw, I have contacted politicians and media, even got my name in the paper a few times, informing the greater public these strikes are happening (in the most objective way as possible, of course). I'd suggest other Canadians try to get their stories out as well. I doubt there are a lot of Canadians who are even aware this is happening.
