Yes and they will also check your liver enzymes that should be abnormal if. you have Hep C. Hep C is usually a very expensive disease to treat and cure. You may have difficulty passing the medical inadmissibility criteria if your goal is to apply for PR.

thanks for the reply. Pls let me know that if I am not going to tell that my HCV Antibodies test is positive and PCR is negative. Will they check HEPATITIS-C Antibodies result for PR or work permit application from india?

Not sure exactly what they will test but they will udentify your Hep C status so there is no point in lying. Communicable diseases are one of the things they test for.

My medical exam was performed at IOM Lahore :)

I took my prescriptions and blood test reports with me. also I had a letter written by my specialist (hepatalogist who treated me) mentioning that I had received the treatment and now SVR (Anti HCV positive and PCR -ve). They attached speciallist report only and didn't bother to see prescriptions etc.

It's sure thing that they don't test for hep B & C if you don't tell them about the history. (they didn't perform these tests for my spouse). If you tell them that you have/had hep b or c, their procedure is
1- test for anti-HCV, hep B and liver enzyme (ALT+ AST)
2- If liver enzymes are normal (i.e not more than 1.5 X), you are good.
3- if liver enzymes are not normal, they refer you to a liver specialist who access you liver heath.

for me, Liver enzymes came out within normal range and I received PPR within a month.
please feel free to contact me if you have any question

Can you please help me with this??

I was HCV infected and received medication 2 years ago. My virus was gone. Now I have medical assessment for canada visa. Will the history of Hep C cause any issues?

I am from Pakistan, if that matters
unfortunately 3 years back my dad got hepatitis c n he got the treatment later on , finally after 8 years they got medical to go through ,I'm so much worried after such a long wait and my hard work I really don't want they have any trouble come in their way to get visa , after reading this I have little hope they will pass it .
