It depends.... anywhere from few weeks to few months will be added to the timeline since they need to do background and criminality check for your spouse as well! It also depends if your spouse has lived in more than one country in past 10 years, they need to check everywhere for the security!
No specific time can be said in such circumstances!

I added my wife in April, got an email from Ottawa that my application is missing the Marriage Certificate (I was 100% that I had attached the marriage certificate)
I again sent my marriage certificate in email and got a confirmation from them on May 2nd that they have added my spouse to my application.
