Hi everyone, I am here to share my timeline with you guys. I submitted my application by May 8, got the biometric done by Jul 13, received my alp Aug.22. Is there any chance I can get the visa by the end of this year? I think I have everything they needed, and the USA is not on the travel ban list. We can still travel to Canada for study purposes, so I assume our case is quite different compare to other countries.

Same here. I applied on 19 May. Biometric done on 14 July. Got AIP today which is dated on 18 August. I am currently hold F1 visa in USA. But I am in the grace period now and it will end in October. Not sure when I can receive second stage approval.

I guess most likely, we will get 2nd stage done before they remove the travel ban. But the thing is, people in US aren't in travel ban at all! We can still travel to Canada as studying purpose!

What you gonna do after you pass the grace period and you still don't get Canadian Visa. We are kind in the same boat though. My grace period is like December, but I don;t think I can get the visa before the grace period.

Right December 2020
I am so stressed now since my school requires me to submit new documents to apply for new I20 this week. If I register for classes, I have to take it. And it will be like I need to take classes for both American and Canadian colleges.

You sure it's not specifically for U.S citizen? I'm still confusing about "traveling from the U.S" on IRCC website.
