Have u landed in missisauga?
I am too considering the Big Data Applied Science course in Lambton and in waiting for their acceptance letter. I seem to reflect the same concerns u had\have about going for this course. i.e duration being 8 months. So, im thinking if i should rather go for the 2 year version of the same course that also comes with a co-op. That way hoping to rightfully earn the 3 years PGWP.
But to me finance is a problem and could afford for the 1 year program only currently. If i still decide to go with the 1 year program, that will solely be based on the demand this skill set has on the global market along with my relevant experience(i have prior experience in Big data).
Let me know ur observations..

I have not yet landed. Hopefully will be joining in May. Even I have experience of 4 years in data integration and I hope that this would add to it.
I came across the two year course with co-op in their website only recently and now even I am doing a see-saw between the two.
But I guess I will probably go with this 1 year course only, because again, I don't know if a two year course investment would be worth it. Also considering the mixed reviews I got of the college. 8 months course length is considered 1 year duration, so 1 year stay back is expected.
I am actually thinking of joining this 1 year course and maybe extending to the two year one if all goes well (if that is possible). Because as you said, 2 year course will be safer as far as stay back is concerned.
But right now, I am going to go ahead with the 1 year program in Lambton only.
As far as the reviews, the general consensus I got was not to expect much from the college. And that you will have to study on your own and that you will find a lot of Indian students there. I don't know, but I found that only Lambton offers this course in May,and I don't want to wait till September. If you want to wait till September, I have heard there is a Big Data Analytics course in Georgian college.
