what we've been told is that is one of the worst visa offices to deal with, most applications take up to 2 years. Anyone?

You can see individual timelines on trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/family-class

There are only 3 completed cases to see there -- 2 of them took about 6 months, 1 took 1 year.

It's definitely not the worst office to deal with -- I'd say that would be Accra or Nairobi.

No problem.

His best bet is to make sure to send in a well put together application -- make sure to answer all the questions thoroughly, attach additional pages if necessary, date and sign everything and of course, make sure to include all the requested items on the document checklist and lots of proof so that they have no doubts about the genuineness of their relationship. Omitting to do any of the above could = slower processing time.
