I really wonder if there is anyone granted visa without even being asked for interview? some of the members said that if they believe the marriage is genuine and continuing they wont call for interview. But i have seen examples seding around 1000 pages of proof but still called for interview.

I coldnt find a post related to this. Any experience?

RN's husband was just told his visa is ready to pick up in Accra, he was not called for an interview. I imagine it has to do with their case having enough evidence, plus they are both Nigerian (from the same tribe), and first marriages for both.

In my case, although there was ample evidence, they will still want to interview (I imagine) because we are different races and cultures, I was married previously and have three children.

Many Americans and British do not have to do interviews. I think many in New Delhi get by without interviews as well. I guess it just depends on the office and how different that culture is from the typical Canadian.

well, in my situation i guess they are going to call me then. hubby is canadian and I am turkish. I couldnt find anyone from Turkey and I dont have any information or stories about the turkish visa office. But since our relation started online 1,5 years ago, I think they will ask for the interview.

Yes bobs wife is correct there are some areas and some races more apt to get called for an interview. And if you come from a country where more ilegal activity has come from.We sent in a crap load of evidence too and i also sent in later my flight and passport stamps from the second time i went to see my wife for our aniversary and she still got called for an interview.

Hi iarblue:

Would you clarify your time line for me, please?

It looks to me like your passport was requested in September 2010, which cannot be.

Thanks

Yes, I expect they will call you for an interview. Has your husband been able to visit you often? If he can visit you again before the interview it would be fantastic.

he has never came to Turkey but I visited him twice. one of these was for marriage. he was unemployed for a long time but then he got a job in april. so he will be able to come here around november. i am not sure if this will be before the interview or not. we didnt send papers yet. he will be sending next week. but according the timelines here if everything is normal i suppose it will be before november. so we will arrange the trip just after we receive the approval for sponsor. it is going to be nice for me too cause it has been already 3 months since last i saw him :(

thanks for your advice

Yes, my husband was told to come and pick up his Visa within 5 months of applying without interview in Accra. I think it depends on a case by case basis. As Bobs said, we are from the same tribe, both professionals, both without children. However, he is a muslim and Im a christian and we explained this in the letter we wrote. We began dating in August 2008, I went to Nigeria 2ce, he went a third time in December 2009 to get married. We had lots of proofs, but honestly, not as much as most people on this forum. I think its the quality of the proof, not the quantity that matters.

I think a lot of it depends on which region you're located in and they're approval percentage rate. I don't think as many applicants from Buffalo are interviewed from what I've noticed.

@RN:

was your hubby notified by mail or by phone?

my hubby and I met last fall, i got preggers a few months after. we literally spent every day together from fall 2009 to january 2010 in nigeria. i came back to canada in january to check on baby and prepare for the wedding. and again, we spent every day together from march 2010 to june 2010. we got married in april and i'll be going back to see him once the baby is born this fall. will stay there with him until the new year.

we are from the same state though he was born and raised in my town and is fluent in my language. we're 1 1/2 years apart. it's the first marriage and baby for us both. we did a traditional wedding (about 200 guests) and a white wedding (600 guests). my mom, brother, sister-in-law and best friend all came from canada for the wedding (i have copies of their flight itineraries and stamped passport pages). his entire family was there, including his brother who had to get permission to attend the wedding because he's a priest in training and had to leave the convent to attend the wedding. we also have LOTS of wedding pics, some pics of us spending time together, text msgs, logs of calls from last fall 'til now, facebook msgs, emails

i hope what you said about quality (and not quantity) holds true b/c as you can see, we haven't been together that long but the relationship is most definately genuine.

concrete - I think you're going to be fine! Although my husband and I have been together for 2 years we have only been 'together' for 55 days during that time. You've got way more time together. Plus, with the baby arriving so quickly it will make sense why you married after 6 months of dating.

Your weddings sound fantastic! We had a tiny ceremony because my family could not go to Nigeria and he had lived the past 6 years in UK so was out of touch with a lot of people. Plus if we had invited 30 family members they would have passed the invite on to 130 more who would have come just to see the 'oyinbo' (white) bride.

You're going to be just fine. Are you applying after the baby is born? I can't remember what you've decided to do.

i pray you're right. i pray we're both going to be fine. i'll be applying after the baby's born, as i plan on cancelling my social assistance in october. i'm leaning towards applying in january and not immediately after i cancel the benefits though, as i was advised by 2 different immigration lawyers to go a couple of months benefits-free before applying.
