I'm about to mail my paperwork off and I am trying to figure out if I am eligible for expedited processing on my Citizenship Certificate/Proof of Citizenship (under the 2009 law).
My mom is a Canadian citizen and was recently hospitalized and still requires some assistance with daily things, and there's no one else she can really rely on. I'm a US citizen and been in Canada about a month on a visitor record but I'm trying to cram the certificate through ASAP.
I gave the CIC a call earlier too and they weren't very sure which kind of evidence I should include either. I have written a simple explanation of the circumstances and was going to include the first page of the hospital bill with her name/etc on it. The CIC webpage doesn't really say either.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone else has done it and what kind of odds there are the CIC actually speeds it up (going to give it a winger no matter what though - just trying to figure out what to expect)
