HI,
I read possiblity (Frequently asked questions: at Government of Canada UnitedKingdom.gc.ca
) of submitting passport later for the work permit. Any experience with that will be valuable for me. Thank you in advance for the help!

It is not mandatory to submit your original passport, you can submit a copy of your passport please include the expired page as well just incase if you have, if you will be granted for a work permit, they will ask you to send your original passport for stamp.

Hi!
Could you please let me know if you were able to submit your application without your original passport (but with a photocopy instead)? If so, do you know if this option is limited to certain countries only? Any useful information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Then why in the Document Checklist for London, it states an original passport must be submitted? http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/assets/pdfs/P227E%20-%20TRV%20checklist.pdf

Well I guess it all depends on the embassy. I applied mine in Abu Dhabi Canadian Embassy and didnt require original passport for safety purposes as they are not responsible if your passport will get lost.
