Hello,
Not sure if anyone has been in the same situation as me but here it goes!
I have been living and working in Canada since Jul 2014. I have been working for the same company my whole time there. The company applied for an LMIA early this year, while the LMIA was being process my own 2yr working holiday visa ran out. I applied for an extension which gave me an extra 3 months working. A few weeks after applying for my extension, the LMIA can back negative. And of course 3 months passed and they denied the extension based off the LMIA.
So in the meantime my company have applied a 2nd time for an LMIA (Oct 2016), my extension was denied at the start of November and I stopped working immediately. I left Canada shortly afterwards and returned home to Ireland to wait on the LMIA result.
I am home 2 and half weeks and have just received a positive LMIA. My company want me back asap as my position was not filled in the meantime as we were waiting for my LMIA result.
So after a quick explanation of my situation my question is; Do I need to apply for a work permit and wait 4+ weeks of processing (which is exactly the same application as I had to do first coming to Canada in 2014, surely they have all my stuff on file by now with all these applications) or can I just arrive at the border with my LMIA and working docs and pay the work permit fee there and get my permit?
I know its a long shot but any help or advice would be appreciated! ;D
Thanks!
