i am just wonder anyone got rejected recently?? i heard about we are most likely fine if we dont hear any bad news in 8months..... is it true in general??

people can get rejected even after waiting for more than 8 months, don't know where you got this number from.

i just heard about that from my friend...he heard about that from his lawyer, he said uaully people pass their 1st round of assessment after 6month.... so in most cases, there is not any issue after 1st round of assessment, they are most likely fine...but i am not sure... just curious about that

I doubt that. A july applicant was rejected a couple of days ago.

True for the "most" cases, but it can still happen.

If they're having a challenge assessing eligibility, the file needs to be reviewed by senior case officers (up to the director).

Often though, it is usually the criminality assessment that delays applications, which is not a CIC function (CISA conducts them).

As others have said, it can happen any time.

With that being said, whether you meet the eligibility criteria (experience, language proficiency, etc.) is assessed first and then medicals and background checks are performed. Usually the first step is within 6-8 months so that's why it is less likely to be rejected after that period unless medical or background check raises any red flags.
