Hi,
I know many people in forum are working on H1B in US while holding Canadian PR. I am in same boat and commute regularly by road. I am little hesitant to apply for Nexus card thinking I may be subject to extensive questioning doing this. Till date, I have been asked by Canadian border officers few times on US status but allowed to re-enter when I told that I am spending 10-15 days in a month (which I do by doing WFH combining with weekend).

I want to know if anyone has really got Nexus card having similar situation holding Canadian PR and working in US on H1B. Pls share your experience.

Thanks!!

While I am not in your specific situation, I can help you understand the process. Getting a NEXUS card involves background checks and then separate interviews with the US and Canadian Officers. They may ask you similar questions as they do when you cross the border about your status, but as you've described here I would just explain it to them.

One thing: if you decide to proceed with your application, include a scanned copy of your H1B (just like you do a copy of your passport). Otherwise, they'll ask you for it as they process your application, extending the timeline.
