Good idea. Although it should be possible to do your own, if you had them rejected it might be helpful to have a professional do it. A pro should also do them over for free if they were to reject them again. The police station only did two copies of mine and the FBI was able to issue the PC with that.
 
mine was also rejected by FBI twice (i already seek fingerprints card from police department)... and my deadline was fast approaching so I just got police clearance from the state where I live & you can wait for the result in just a few minutes.
present your driver's license or state ID or passport.

Did you or did you NOT, get FBI security clearance?

I didnt try for d 3rd time to get FBI clearance I might not reach my deadline bec the processing takes 4-6wks eventhough its just re submitting a new set of fingerprints. What I did as what I have mentioned I just got State police clearance to meet my deadline :)

I got a Professional (some Notary office around) to take care of finger prints. If the Professional couldn't help you, you can ask for HR or Immigration Office (whoever assure your legal status in US) for the fingerprint when you apply for visa and/or get through immigration at the airport. From that piece of information, you can get the FBI clearance.
