We too only received one letter to continue with MICC...should we be concerned?

so you already received the letter to go on with MICC?
My wife received the letter on her name, nothing came on my name. That letter we used for the QSC application. Since I send it two weeks ago, it won't take very long any more to find out if only the sponsor's letter is sufficient. What I understood from the papers from MICC it's the sponsor who needs to take care of the application. Just like in the CIC papers: the sponsor needs to forward the proper documents to the applicant to sign, the applicant then needs to give everything back to the sponsor and the sponsor sends everything in.

yes, only the letter addressed to the sponsor is the one required to be sent together with the application to MICC.

I sent in for my CSQ today. How long is the wait? I know the Canada Post is on the fritz, so I sent mine via UPS. It should get there on Wednesday.

MICC waiting times can vary a bit. Usually it's 3-4 weeks.

Letter we received was for my husband (sponsor) I didn't receive letter for sponsored person.
We didn't call. Guess we should call.
:(

Thats how it's supposed to be. If your sponsor is only sponsoring you and no one else, you download Kit A and fill out the forms and sign them. There's a checklist if you need to double check.

CrazyLucy,

I don't understand, we got a lady she helping us with papers. She said she needs both letters to send.

What to do, call her or waiting for second letter?

I believe is one letter, please read Guide, and it only mentions 1 letter.

it is one letter but often(doesn't look like it happens 100 % of the time) people receive two. because the sponsored person is sent a notice stating that the sponsor has to submit the application to MICC to make the application continue its course

Just called CIC they were able to confirm that I was approved for a CSQ and that they are communicating via email during the postal strike, so have no fear if your information is with Immigration QC and they approve you Immigration Canada will receive the appropriate info in a timely manner!

Teri, I guess we should call as well.

You could try, but I don't think you'll receive a different answer. ;)

I heard mixed rumours about CIC and MICC using commercial couriers during the lockout, but also that they are not even allowed to use other couriers then Canada Post. At least it's great that CIC is now forced to start living in the 21st century and use email a bit more.

Not really expecting anything this week, maybe next week or the week after. So, seeing as how the Canada Post is on strike, I dont recon I'm going to get my CSQ in the mail anytime soon (unless the strike ends within a week or so). How do they forward MICC's responce? Fax or E-mail? Does this mean that perhaps within the next month I could be looking for a DECISION MADE on my E-Cas?

I would be almost sure that lockout at canada post will end soon. in case it doesn't who knows? maybe MICC would use a private courier....don't know , just guessing
