Yes you are right, my letter said the same as well but my agent insisted that I give all the bloody documents and as a result I had to go through hell.
However, I would not be too worried If I were you as I have serious doubts about my agents efficiency and professionalism. He was too interested only in his money.

Hi Cocosting/all seniors in this thread..,

I have read your posts.. There's a bit possibility that - I might be in similar situation.. So, I need your guidance..

I am in India currently and working with one of outsourcing employer. My wife as a PA and for myself have applied FSW PR app to CHC. we received our file number in sep 2009 and given 120 days deadline to submit full app by Jan 10 2010. We have already sent them 120 days documents just couple of days back.

Now, through my current employer, in next couple of months there is a possibility we might have to travel to UK. So, while we are in UK, if CHC requests our passports for visa stamping and if we send our passport to New Delhi, CHC - can we stay in UK without our passport (approx 1 month) till the time these passport comes back to us after stamping.. pls let me know, its really urgent for me to take decision on this..

When did you make your initial application?
Have you received your file number?
When are you travelling to the UK?
How long do you intend to stay in the UK?

When are you travelling to the UK? - might be in Feb-Mar - 2009
How long do you intend to stay in the UK? - possibly 6-7 months..

You should be fine. Let CIC know about your travel plans as soon as you have confirmed dates of travel. If in case you do receive a passport request when you are not in UK, I do not suggest you try the same thing I did, it is very risky. I did not have a choice but you do. Just write to CIC with reference to the earlier letter ( the one informing them about the travel plans to UK) and request time until you get back to India. But make sure you are ABSOLUTELY sure of your travel and return dates. Sending them multiple requests will only complicate things.
