There is some good news, I got my application approval today along with the passport submission request. I will keep you posted regarding further updates. Good luck to you guys as well as I think they are processing the files now.
I also called the NDVO today and they told me there is huge backlog of files.

I am waiting for my employer specific work permit

LMIA applied on April 1st week and approved on June last week.

WP applied on 1st week on July and awaiting decision.

Biometrics updated : 11th Nov

Medicals passed : 30th Nov

Eligibility section : We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements

After that no updates

Hello all,
Need an advice I am on work permit in Canada.
Applying for Open work permit for my wife & visitor visa for my child as he is just 1 year old.

So, my doubt is which visa type option should i select while filling the questionnaire for my child of 1 year old.
Visit - all other types
Or
Visit - Tourism

I called IRCC and they mentioned that my file is being handled by New Delhi visa office. We have raised web form 2 weeks back. Is there any thing else i can do?

@sami26 : could you please share your timeline ? I applied on jun24th and no update since then.!

I submitted my application on March 18, 2020 along with the biometrics. Cleared the medical on Aug 17 and then received biometric correspondence letter on Aug 25.

After the original passport request (OPR) :
Nov 4- OPR from IRCC
Nov 7- instructions from delhi high commission, asked to send an email to vfs.
Nov 9- vfs replied, asked some details of address and all.
Nov 10- booked passport pickup with VFS on call and did the payment online.
Nov 12- pickup done after noon. Then I kept checking the status online.
Nov 18- I got a notification in my GCkey account and status was changed to approved along with the counterfoil issued. I could see my visa number and validity there. By evening I got a notification that the decision envelope is dispatched from IRCC to VAC.
Nov 19- Got notification that vfs has received the envelope. Also by evening got the letter of introduction(correspondence letter for my work permit) in my online account.
Nov 20- In the morning received my passport back.
Dec 5- Flight from Delhi to Toronto
