whats your husbands timeline, is it over 83 days now? yes, i agree.. no harm at all.. at least this way IRCC knows that someone is checking. and you can have a peaceful mind that it's not something you were doing wrong or worse, might be sent to a secondary/local to verify more.
Have you received your card yet? My husband received his card today :)

We got a call from our MP's office today. Apparently, a change of our address had caused the delay. I had called up IRCC 2-3 months ago to update our address/phone numbers, etc.
Honestly, one of my biggest complaints about IRCC is that they seem to have considerable difficulty even dealing with changes of address.

That said, I moved into my current residence over two years ago, and the previous resident still receives more mail here than we do. And I *know* they have tried to change most of these addresses many times (even their employer - a very large hospital - still sends mail here). So apparently people changing addresses is a thing that causes Canadian institutions to fall apart.

It's crazy :( And I only found out that this was an issue when I called IRCC about 3 months after the processing time had passed. I had to provide updated info to the IRCC rep :/ If I had known sooner, I would have called them up as soon as I submitted my application to make sure they had the right phone/address info.
