Anyone applied for "Study Visa under General Category" after June 10th 2013?

Hi All,

I am from Bangalore. I have applied for Visa under General category on June 10th 2013.
Application accepted by Delhi Visa office on 11th June 2013.
Status updated to “under processing” on 21st June 2013.
No updates after that.

Its been a month now and I am bit worried if it is getting delayed more that normal required time due to strike. There are few questions troubling my mind. Hope friends on this forum can help me find few answers.

1. Is there anyone in this forum who has received Study visa by applying under General category after June 10th 2013 for a Post Grad Certificate program ?

2. Is there anyone who got visa (any Visa) from Delhi Visa office by applying after 10th June 2013?

3. Any signs of processing seen by anyone from Delhi Visa office? (Heard that ppl are getting visas from Delhi visa office but processing has slowed down in Chandigarh visa office due to strike)

4. Is there anyone who has got through Humber for Project management Certificate program – Sep 2013 Intake? (We will be classmates if I get a Visa )


My Details:

IELTS: Band 7 (all above 6)
Applied College: Humber – Project management Certificate program
Fees paid: GIC ($10k) + Fees ($13.5k) = $23.5k
Applied for Visa from Bangalore VFS: 10th June 2013

Current Status:
Passport received at Canadian High Commission, 7/8 SHANTIPATH, CHANKYAPURI, -, NEW DELHI, Pin:110021, Tel: on 11/06/2013 and is under processing.

Why your file accepted at Chandigarh Visa Office, it should be accepted by Delhi as u applied outside of punjab from Bangalore VFS and Bangalore VFS sends files to Delhi VFS.

Current Status Updated to :


Passport has been dispatched through Courier via Airway Bill #:. You can track your passport Status by visiting the Blue dart website.
Note: The airway bill no. will be updated on the website by the next working day from the dispatch date of your passport.Incase of Hold Passport Request: Your Passport has been held on Request at Delhi OC.

Consultancy said that they may get my passport by tommrow around 4.30pm and will call me as soon as they get it.

Fully tensed..

I have applied thru consultancy. So all mail communications will be directed to my consultancy email address. I only get SMS from VFS. The messages will be almost similar to status on VFS tracking site. I assume same will be on mail too.

Was going thru another post. Looks like they do let us know via mail about approval status.

Unfortunately, I have given consultancy email address upon their request. So have to wait till consultancy receives the package :-X

hey did you get visa as i have also applied on 20th june under general category ???

Hi All,

My visa is rejected with general reason as it is on everyone rejection..

I haven't seen it yet. Will collect it tomorrow from consultancy.

Will apply for refund and try may be for Jan intake. Not sure...

My consultancy asked me to reapply but I dont think i dont have much time now. I have to take back my papers or else will loose job and with current job market i cant take a risk.


I hope others get the Visa .. All the best guys

I have applied for for CIAPS via lawpoint website. Its 25 USD.

Let me see what info i get.

There is tick mark against last reason out of all in my rejection letter - >

Other Reasons:
Your Proposed studies are not reasonable in light of more of your qualifications, previous studies, gap in studies, employment, level of establishment , language abilities, or your future prospects and plans


I will get CIAPS by end of August. I have already applied for refund of GIC and college.
