Hi all,
I currently hold a valid study permit in Canada. My grad is coming so I need to apply for a Post Grad work permit (PGWP) in September this year. However, I am in the process of applying for Permanent Resident under Spouse sponsorship-outland (my husband and I choose to apply outland so I can travel in and out of Canada without restriction). I haven't sent my PR application yet. So my question is if I send my PR application now, when I apply for PGWP later, is there a high possibility that CIC will reject my Work Permit because I already applied for PR (meaning that I have an intention to stay in Canada)? How could I increase the chance of extending my stay in Canada?
Also a little bit of background information: I actually applied for PR under inland spouse sponsorship last year but later withdrew the application to change to outland. It is because both of us did not know that I need to stay in Canada while the application is in the process. I understand that an inland sponsorship allows the spouse to stay in Canada under the open work permit if the sponsor is approved. In this case, should I re-apply for PR under inland or if an outland application is still acceptable?
Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you.
