Ni Nadeem/ Nadia,

My wife is planning to study there. Ill be the dependent and will apply for TRV and Work Permit. We have applied to TRU, SFU and Uni. of Calgary. Waiting for the conditional acceptance letter and will apply as soon as I get that letter.
From my knowledge both student and dependent get multiple entries 95% of the time (Might just depend on the your nationality) so you can enter and exit whenever you want. Ive studied in the US and I can tell you Canada is much more easy as compared to the US as dependent spouse can live and work in Canada

So you suggest that we should apply for my spouse work permit from the begining? I know about the spouse can live and work in canada but was thinking once she be there she can the be eligible applying for Work permit...

Is this really true that college applications got rejected if u apply in a college instead of university? and if ur course of study is lesser then your previous course.. they might reject it?? Because the course which i select has no masters and it has advance studies and course contents and more demanding.... and diplomas are hands on if u see from a professional point of view... masters are more theories and research kind of...!! though it has its own worth... I applied in Animations program.. and there is no masters in animation in canada... mostly advance diplomas with good level of course contents.... though some of my friends who are graduate already but they also go for animation course.... which is post secondry as in graduation animation was not part of the studies though it comes under our profession....!! what do you say about it???!

There is nothing that would suggest that your visa gets rejected if you apply to a college. However the chances that it may get rejected are higher if you apply to a college (and a university offers the same). In your case as there is no masters for your program it should be fine.

About your wife applying with you, it all depends on your previous travel history (if you and your wife haven't traveled abroad enough then I would suggest get the student visa first then apply for the spouse visa)

Work permit (i'm told can be obtained for the spouse at the airport directly) after she produces your study permit

We are pakistani National but live in dubai so we already living outsode our country and every year we travel back and come here!!!

So you been told you will get work permit for your spouse on airport? but did you apply for open work permit for your wife?.. what is an application number for it?? As Study permit also one get on port of entry!!!... If visas for college got rejected the colleges must not eligible to call international students on study!!!! instead someone just waist time and money!!.

Mate sadly living here in Dubai doesn't count for much according to these countries...specially for south east asians (indians, pakistani. sri lankans etc..) Also even if the college is good for international students, if you do not show them a reason to come back they can reject the student visa...spouses get open work permit i.e. they do not need a job offer before getting a work permit...i dont know the application number as I havent started the process but will inform you as soon as I know...inshallah everything will work out for all of us

why? how much did you pay? did they contact you themselves or did you email them first?

Im applying thru consultant they recieved a mail. Now i have changed the draft and re-sent to them. The confusion was because of the kids travelling with me. We paid them less and as per the study permit.

Hi Nadia,
So atleast you get some call.. Anyhow can you please share are you principal applicant or your Husband?? you apply for multipal entry temporary visa or single entry? for principal applicant he also has to fill TRV form but fees will be 125$? right because in Study permit its included in the package!!??

Hope you will get the things soon.. see even consultants are making mistakes!!

It was not the mistake of consultant she showed me mails for the fees for which before they said a different amount. The have some miscommunication internally. Anyways, im the principal applicant, my husband will stay back and 3 kids will accompany me. Does that mail from them means that i will get approval or rejection.

you have to pay all three kids fee and it will be written in Canada High Commission web, CAD 125 is only fee for study permit so check carefully the fee for your kids.........more information available here

Hi

If you have applied as a student to Canada and have received/ rejected(hopefully not) student visa from the UAE, please share the experience and the process from the time you applied to the embassy

Many Thanks
Hi Senior,

Please help me with the study plan please. I am from Dubai. Can I have your email id please?

Thanks

Hi,

I applied Study permit and TRV from Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, along with my partner and 9 yrs old son. Me and my son got 4 years TRV and 4 years study permit while my partner got his 4 years Open work permit. I applied in June 3 and got the visa on Aug 26. There was no medical request from the embassy nor an interview.

Me and my son came to Canada on September 2012. My partner arrived here on January 2013 and he is already working. My son is also studying here (we paid 60 dollars for the full year fee and everything else is free). I completed my six months and requested for my Eligibility Verification from my University 2 days ago.

If you have some questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
