I am thinking to do landing at Vancouver CIC Office rather than doing flagpool.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get an appointment from Vancouver Office?
Did anyone have done landing at Vancouver office in the last few months?

I just want to have a sense how busy they are and weigh my options!!!

Thank you!!!

Give them a call for the next available appointment time.

Thank you Eucalyptus for acknowledging my question.....I was just looking for someone here in the forum that may have an idea; I heard If you call you kinda trap in waiting for the appointment. Call center won't give you a specific time frame.

Also, one has to have COPR on hand before they'll talk to him/her.

+1 to you :)

A few months ago, someone had posted that they called and the earliest appointment was about 2 months out from when they called. Unfortunately, I can't remember the posters name.
Is there a reason you can't get to the border from Vancouver? It's actually very close. I had a few friends who took oublic transportation from Vancouver to Peace Arch with no problems. Just did the Skytrian to the end, took a bus to Whiterock and then just shared a taxi to the border. They both said it was pretty easy.

I have heard that it will take couple of weeks to get appointment with CIC office. Yes, you will definitely need CoPR before making an appointment with them. You do not hve to go till Peace Arch to do flagpole, the easier one is to go Point Roberts. One of my friend went there using public transit and it was quick as well.

Thank you JK_CAD for your suggestion; I am, however, do live some 4hrs North Vancouver. Driving Wise, Peach Arch will be second Boarder on my way down to Vancouver. And if I am doing flogpoling; I rather do it on a bigger boarder crossing as both side are well versed and so used to it.

AshesNdust, Thank you for the info; I cannot find any comments regarding Landing at a Vancouver office when I looked before unfortunately. Most was about Spousal Sponsorship landing which is totally different.

I am looking at the option to land at CIC office cause I am afraid to deal with US boarder being a Middle Eastern, not a good time to be around US nowdays unfortunately.

I waited almost six years for this moment to come, I do not want to risk it in any way.
What do you guys think?!
+1 for you both :)

Yeah, I just tried to find the post that talked about calling the Vancouver office and the wait time, but I had no luck either.
As for the US border, since you are flagpoling, you aren't going to actually enter the US. When you get to the border, just let them know you are flagpoling and they will just give you a ticket stating that you were refused entry and heading back into Canada. Don't worry about the refused entry, it's not something that gets recorded anywhere. It just what they put on the slip of paper.
The US isn't really that bad, I've had plenty of friends and coworkers from the middle east area travel all round the US with no problems. But if you really concerned, try calling the Vancouver office and ask them what the current wait times are like. That should give you an idea what to expect.
It's not too bad having to wait a bit to land after receiving the CoPR. I waited about 2.5 months to land after I got my CoPR.

Hi, I called them without the CORP cuz I expected my passport would arrive early. Then told me first that the waiting time was 2 weeks, but soon I received email saying I was scheduled in a week. Unfortunately I had to cancel it.
What I did was to tell them my UID number then they verified information like birthday and current permit.

Thank you for sharing 05052015, Did they ask for COPR reference or you just gave them your UCI #?

Did the agent ask you whether you have received your COPR?

I will try to give it a shoot tomorrow morning.

+1 to you by the way!!!!

Hi, did you try call them yet? They did not even mention about CORP when I asked for the appointment. They directly asked about UCI.

Yes, I called first thing this morning, and got in; but they said it's 3 weeks wait. I haven't heard from Vancouver yet!!!!
