Anybody has experience getting BOWP through flagpole?

I was laid off and on closed work permit. Need to start working asap. 117 days for online application seem too long! I was thinking maybe give it a try and go to border to try flagpole. Anybody tried that?

I hear lots of people do open work permits on the border. Probably it's different type then

They dont issue bowp at port of entry. It is not allowed.

I tried this and couldn't get one.the cbsa officer gave me cic website link which explicitly says bowp can't be issued at port of entry

Have you tried to get a new job offer and go to the border to get a new closed work visa?
