Hi All,

I am planning on applying for Canadian immigration this year (looking for Provincial Nominee Program as Federal Skilled Worker program is closed as of now due to cap reached for 2011-2012 immigration). I am yet to take the IELTS exam.

Are there any more prospective candidates who are in a similar stage of application? We could discuss about how to go forward, help each other with the process/ideas, and above all it will be nice to keep in touch.

Is anybody applied for passport for baby in Bangalore? And how long will it take? I am not Indian but my husband is, we applied for our baby's fresh passport and my husband applied for adding my name in his passport. As per passport office my husband's passport process will take 1 month and son's should take 15 days, but the lady in the last counter said that our 4 months old baby's passport should go through Police verification ;-(( I think it is because of me only. And knowing our Police station ( recently we applied for PCC ) I don't think so it is going to take such short time.
Is anybody got any experience of getting passport in Bangalore. please share your experience.

I wonder though what sort of police verification is required for a baby. But since it is the Passport Officials who sit at the last counter, they must be right. Anyway, you can speed up the process of police verification though by following it up at the Commissioner's office on Infantry road once the file reaches there. There, you can request them to dispatch your file to your local Police Station. This dispatch is done online. Once they do that, you can go to your local Police Station in a couple of days and get the verification done. Remember to take all residence related docs and ID proof along.

Thanks for your reply. I think it is because of me, I am not from India. I think they will contact FRO office first to check my registration there. How long did it take for you to get your baby's passport?Will visit Commissioner Office next week.

If i remember correctly, it took just a month or so for my baby's passport. They said 15 days, so one month is pretty much par for the course.
You may want to start your quest (that's what it is after all) at the Regional Passport Office though. Find out from there what is the course that your child's file is going to take. Whether its the FRO (which is most likely) or the Commissioner or first FRO and then Commissioner.

Both my husband's and son's file were there.And policeman was asking why baby's passport was sent for verification ;-))) Anyway good we came as both files were sent 1 week ago and this people was not even bother to call us...Got all papers done and hope now files will move faster. Commissioner office is working promptly only local police is sleeping ;-)))

Hi,

I received medical request few days back. I have been asked to submit fresh PCC also.

Last time it took almost a month to get PCC since my passport was not issued from Bangalore. And my original passport was with Regional passport office until they issued PCC.
I booked an appointment for medical on 10th of July and the hospital asked me to bring original passport for medical.

But my passport will be with passport office at the time of medical. Not sure whether passport seva kendra will withhold my original with them. Did anyone faced this problem? Can you suggest any alternative solution?
