Hi I am Chinese and I have been living in UAE since 2010. We applied Spousal visa in late April 2018 and I passed medical exam on 12 June, so far no news at all. I have not received any email or update since then. Do you know how long it takes for them to transfer my file?

I am not sure about uae based applicants but in general family class sponsorship PR applications take around 10-12 months for processing

Thanks, for this I know, but I'd like to know when they usually transfer the file to a local office after the medical exam, especially for applicants based in U.A.E

I am sponsoring my wife living in Dubai as well. CIC rec'd our application on Feb 07th and it has been 5 months. Our file is transferred to London, now waiting on a decision. The wait is frustrating and to makes matters worse is her TRV gets rejected every time we apply. Are you living with your spouse?

Thank you for replying to me in the other thread and welcome to the club! My TRV got rejected 3 times. Twice before we got married, 1 got approved for a single entry. I did not over stay, I did not get married in Canada. I returned to Dubai as planned. After we got married in my home country and we started spousal application, we were planning to apply a TRV earlier in May so I can visit more of his relatives and friends in August, but again it was rejected. Now I'm going to stop.
I live in Dubai alone now and my husband is currently in Canada.

Oh no! I understand how frustrating it must be. The one time that you got your TRV approved, did you apply online or submit it my mail or drop it off at the Embassy. Whenever they reply back saying why they rejected the visitors visa, it doesn't make sense. What kind of documents did you submit, ? I am just going to try our luck one more time and see it will work.

I applied via VFS in Dubai, it is an agent authorized by Embassy so your wife doesn't have to travel all the way from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to submit documents. VFS is in WAFI Mall, your wife must know. VFS is only responsible for collecting and delivering your documents. The one I got approved could be an MP letter that my husband got for me, but I am not sure if that really helped or I was just lucky because the visa officer was in a good mood. The MP letter did not work for my recent TRV application in May, it was rejected. I suggest you make very detailed travel itinerary and buy travel insurance. I didn't do a proper travel itinerary this time and did not provide travel insurance. I am suspicious this effected a little on my recent application (but I could be wrong :p)
