Any1 from Mumbai, India? Applied for PCC??

Hey, I m at score 413, expecting an ITA in 2 3 draws...trying to get all my documents ready as I have my sisters wedding so I doubt when I receive ITA, I will b out for 15 20 days..Police certificate takes a long time I have heard...is it better to get it done through passport seva Kendra or SP office??...what all documents they require???

Better to apply from PSK, it will be faster.

Hi Preeti,

I got my PCC from Mumbai, India. You need to apply online (just do a google search for mumbai PCC) and take a print out and go to the Police Comissioner's Office near Crawford Market, on the date you've taken the appointment.
You'll get the required documents list on the website.
You need to submit application at the "PCC for Abroad" window. They usually give out the PCC withing 20 days, but you might be called to the Police station for verification (you'd know how things work in India ).
If you're lucky enough to have your passport renewed within last year, you can directly get the PCC from Passport office, in which case, they don't re-verify your address and stuff.

PSK would be quicker.

Just take all the following with you:

1) All Original Passports
2) Address Proof
3) Marriage Certificate in case you are married.

Also take photo copies of above.

You would get the PCC stamp and certificate on the day of your slot. You can book your slot online.

Ohh!! I actually reside in mira road hence it falls under thane....I hv made my passport last year only and date of issue is 6 may 2014...so in that case they would not require to re verify? Thts cool then...
I shall take appointmnt for PSK then as all of u advised thats faster...getting an appointment again is a pain I tried teice bt slots are aleays booked...anyways thank you all

Hi... I am too from Mira road, but my all docs are from Dahisar, so I would be visiting Malad PSK for PCC. I guess PSK is quicker.

police station and proceed the usual way.
This was only because my new passport didn't have police verification when it was renewed due to only address change.
Otherwise, people get it right there in 45 minutes ( thats what the PSK officer told me )

No need of any documents, just original passport, application receipt and passport photocopy.

I am in Canada and I am visiting Mumbai next week.
Can i apply for PCC and collect it in Mumbai??? or do i have to compulsorily apply from Canada. ???

there is no harm in applying from here...we r generally asked to visit consulates coz we remain in no position to visit home countries to apply for just PCC...just apply without worries

Because of the lack of time I could not apply for India PCC from Toronto So I have do to it from Mumbai. I am from thane and my parents shifted to new address in thane but my passport have my old address In this case what should I do?

I dont have any adhar card or any address proof on my name for new location?

Please need your advice in this scenario.

If you have a document such as telephone bill, electricity bill, etc. to prove your new address, then you need to attach it and get the address changed in your passport. Then, it would be fine to apply for PCC.
Since you would be staying for a short period in Mumbai, I highly recommend you to get these things done through an agent, which will be quicker and there would be less hassles for you.

Apply PCC from your PSK, you will get it on the same day if the police clearance report is available online. Otherwise they will issue PCC after police verification, it may take around one month.
