Hello All!

I'm waiting for my interview as well and I live in Vancouver. I have never received any emails from CIC even though they claim they have sent 2 already (first and second letter) which I never received (not even on my junk mail which I check every day). Anyways I'm afraid that I might not receive the email for the interview and I miss it!! I was aware of the updates on my case because I regularly check my ECAS if not I would not have any idea of the stage of my application.

I wonder if I should pay the fees or wait until I receive a copy of the second letter (which they will resend by regular mail), and they told me as well that the interview in Vancouver could take up to 6 months of waiting.

I requested CIC to change my email address and they didn't do it, so i'm pretty frustrated now :(

Its so frustrating that vancouver office is slowest among all Canada and if this office is super busy then why dont they ask more officers to be here so that backlog cannt be worst. Keep praying but anyways these days which applicants are getting interviews?

Exactly ! But I think the best thing we can do for now is to wait until 6 mos... As for my case it's gonna be almost 4mos now since I received the second email.

Keep on praying and hoping it will come very soon....Goodluck to all of us

Any luck Vancouver guys?

Still no luck. :( i have a question it os my 3rd month of waiting now so i am expecting my interview letter anytime today until june 18. My problem is that I am going home this July do you think the temporary white paper( landed paper) is enough for re-entry? Or do i still need to get the temporary travel documents? Is there a chance i'll get refuse if i apply the temporary travel documents?

Hi LFP,

I have the same problem. I plan to go oversea next January. If I get the landed paper but not a PR card in time before I travel, I have to apply for the temporary travel documents at the Embassy back home.
The temporary travel document is vital for Airline staff to determine whether they will let you board the airplane. Actually, the landed paper is enough for Immigration to let you enter Canada. the problem is you have to be able to get on the plane to come back here first.

I am hoping we all will get the PR cards soooon....I can't wait. This is so frustrating.

Mine is almost 3 months of waiting.

Let's hope. Good luck and keep up posted!

Do you think you wont get it till next january? Wow that will be along wait for us then!

I was trying to understand the application package for temporary travel visa but i dnt get it how will i tell them that i just got landed and doesnt have a PR card. I am going home this July so 4 mos from now.. You think i wouldn't make it? Im so confused now.

basing on stories that are ahead of me,after the interview it took 6 to 8 weeks to get the pr card and yes if we travel without the pr card we are required to apply for travel documents, I browse the requirements and its a lot, by the way I am sheduled for interview next week but mine is expedited, its been a long wait already.

Hi taurusgirl,

Thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing your timeline? How long did you have to wait for interview schedule since you got AIP?
Do I understand correctly that we have to get the travel documents from the Embassy we will be visiting? Or we apply it here with CIC BEFORE we leave Canada?

My timeline:
submitted owp/pr application oct 2010
owp dec 2011
pay rprf Feb 2014
interview March 28, 2014
If we already finish the landing interview and cannot wait for the pr card w/c takes 8 weeks(approx) to be mailed to us and we need to travel outside Canada we have to secure travel docs,my friends who wants to go home right away after the interview secure travel docs from our country coz it only takes 1 week to proccess, travel docs is needed on our way back here in Canada before boarding the plane and immigration.

You know the feeling when you heard or red on the other thread that they already got their PR and when you look at their timelines you are months or year ahead of them. This is so unfair.. Hope i could do something with my situation. There is nothing we could do with it but to wait until the CIC vancouver contact us for the interview. What an agony.. Haaay hope they will notice us.. We need our PR too..

Hi LFP,

This is exactly how I feel when I noticed other people got their PR already although they sent the app after us. This is unfair for us who live in Vancouver. I would say for all LC from Lower Mainland. Sometimes I am wondering what are CIC Vancouver up to?

Hi neng,

No. not one bit. I have been checking my mailbox everyday. April 7th will be my 3rd month. What should we do? Are we allowed to write a letter to CIC Vancouver?
