Hi All, is there any update on when we will come to know about the lottery for 10,000 selected application for Parent and Grand Parent sponsorship for 2017?

Please share if anyone has any information...thank you in advance...

My mother is alone back home and I am the only child, how I can bring my mother here on PR?

My Brother passed away in 2011 in an accident
My Father passed away last year
My Sister is married and has her own family
My Sister in law (borther's wife) is working

Now being a only child how I can bring my mother here on PR. Please guide me.

I have applied for lottery system this year.

Is there any way I can request and ask immigration for my mother PR?

You wait for the lottery result. If selected, then assuming you meet income criteria you can sponsor your mom for PR.

If you aren't selected then you can try next year.

Or, if your mom can come visit Canada you could attempt a H&C application for her. Although if your sister (or any other family) lives in home country, it would be expected she would take care of your mom so good chance a H&C app would fail.

As part of the government’s commitment to fairness and transparency, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) now randomly selects individuals who have shown interest in applying to sponsor their parent(s) or grandparent(s) under this program. Now that submissions for 2017 are closed, we have randomly selected 10,000 individuals who showed interest in applying to sponsor their parents or grandparents. We regret to inform you that you were not selected to apply this year.
