It will be extremely unlikely that such a position would be considered as volunteer work for work permit purposes. You will almost certainly have to obtain an approved LMIA unless you have an open work permit.vctrokoyeeducation said:

BTW volunteer and job are mutually exclusive. So don't mix the terms or you will create confusion and most likely will get rejected. Offer your services for a $0 dollar fee or for a donation, that qualifies as work, and as you have the permit that would represent no problem.
