Hello, for the last 6 months, I was tried to work in USA and Canada (now I am focused in Canada) as Truck Driver (NOC 7411 - 7511), with almost 1000 resumes sent, I am from Spain, and I have 12 years of Truck Driving experience, and with Dangerous Goods, I do not have luck, because I was received the sames responses, "We do not have LMIA", "We do not sponsor", "You need 2 years of USA/Canada experience", "Only Canadians or PR", or directly not responses.

There is some was hired overseas as Truck Driver? Or it is an Utopia? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Kiruban.

For a Work Permit I need a job offer, and there is my bad luck, without positive responses...
You need a job offer AND and approved LMIA to qualify for a work permit.

Yes I know, and my question is "Any truck driver has been "hired" overseas?" Because in the first step (job offer) I do not have luck...

You were looking in the US and now you're focused on Canada, why exactly?

What makes you think this is going to be any easier in Canada?

More to the point, why the fixation with Canada? No truck driving activity taking place outside of North America? Plenty of other places in the world to look for work if it's dried up in your own country.

That being said, no I haven't seen anybody in this forum who just approached a Canadian employer randomly and got them to agree to go through the LMIA process. It's a ridiculous idea to begin with. If you can send resumes from your country, so can any local candidate.

I'd suggest you stop wasting your time in forums like these and stop entertaining utopian ideas.

I was started with Canada about 2 years ago, but the immigration laws invited me to stop (I was seen only the PR laws), later (about 8 months ago) I was tried with USA, but the kind or work visa I can apply (H2-B) is not enough to go with the family (limitations), and now I am focused in Canada because I think that is a very good place for my children's growth, and the work visa is extensible to my wife.

In Spain there are a lot of truck job, but the wage here is very low (in some years this country ends like Greece), in my current job my wage is 60€ daily (about 88 CAD, 11$ hourly), and I work in Cepsa, the other companies are paying about 30€ daily (about 44 CAD, 5,5$ hourly), and in Canada I see wages from 18 CAD to 32 CAD "hourly", and the possibility to be hired is there, I know this is not easy, and the local preference is a handicap for me, but I have a lot of patience and tenacity, and if I do not try, it can't success...
BTW thanks for your final advice, I will keep.

Few years back it was very easy to get truck driver job in Alberta and Manitoba. I know few ppl who got the job sponsored by the employer due to lack of local ppl who was ready to get this job. Later they got their PR. Now, it is much harder due to bad economic situation and additional immigration restrictions.
