Your question is pretty vague. What is it you want to know?

Having submitted inland, then withdrawn and resubmitted for outland, I have to say the information required are pretty similar. In some cases, even if some forms are numbered and named differently, essentially they have the same content. However, do not mix up the forms and the way that it is presented, i.e. for inland, the Applicant (aka sponsored spouse) is the main applicant and for outland, the Sponsor is the main applicant, and the forms kind of reflected this as well.

The sponsor is most certainly NOT the main applicant in an outland application.

Furthermore, the new application package is the same for inland and outland.

Oh wow, thanks. I didn't know they revamped the package for the sponsorship applications.
As for my previous post, I am not saying the Sponsor is the main applicant, but the application package is Sponsor driven for outland and the other way around for the inland application.

we would be doing an outland through France.. would that mean that all of our papers would have to be translated to french?

also, what if we don't hear back by the time his visa runs out? would he still be eligible to stay in Canada on a visitor visa?

Any official documents (birth cert, marriage cert, PCCs, etc.) that are not in English or French must be formally translated.

Prior to his current status expiring, he needs to apply to extend his stay as a visitor. Provided he shows proof of funds and proof of the PR app, there should be no issues.
