Has anyone here received study permit with what could be considered course mismatch? I'm preparing to apply with course mismatch. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communication, and have been working in Communication/Public Relations field for 6 years. Now, I've been accepted to do a Master of Arts in Environmental Policy, and have been guaranteed some funding. In my current job, I have worked on 2 projects related to the field of Environmental Studies, so I'm wondering whether this will be considered. Any success stories of persons who overcame a similar obstacle?

Every application is considered on its own merits. There is no generalisation in this. If you've course mismatch, please submit a letter of intent telling the visa officer that you're aware of the course mismatch, give reasons why you want to follow that program, skills acquired that will enable you complete successfully, how the program will help increase your employability and fit into your future aspirations and finally what will compare you to return back home after your studies in Canada. This will give uniqueness to your application and your application will be approved if other conditions are met too. My friend has a course misamatch, but you have to let the visa officer know and offer further clear and tangible but detailed explanation.
