How nice to find kind people like yourselves who are in the same situation. We will probably only get married in June 2012 because I will be studying next year (I came back to do my final year but then these damn assholes at Stellenbosch changed everything the other day when I went to register myself for next year and now I have to do 2 years instead of one and honest to God, I don't think I'd be able to do it because I was really heartbroken with the thought of not being with my fiance for one year already so I am really lost at the moment. I really want my degree so I can work and continue studying but ugh.. I'd just prefer to go back to my babe really and continue studying when I have PR- I don't know what do you guys think? I study BSc and things are a little different in Manitoba. THe courses are really different.)

So we'll see but defnitly doing outland. It would be amazing if I was able to get my PR in 7 months because by then after applying in June, it won't be that long of a wait-then I can go be with my babe again (heaven :)).

I understand what you mean, had a similar situation with the school and stuff. But that decision only you can make it, see what's best for you and your fiancee. It's really hard being away from our loved ones. Hope everything goes well with your application, anything you have the cic website and this forum for advices and doubts.

Wow, that must be incredibly hard! I would definitely recommend the Outland option. Just as IndianOcean said you could study and work and get some savings. It would indeed be amazing if your PR can be approved in 7 months!! Is there any possibility that you can get married sooner so you can start the process ASAP?

The inland processing times seems to get longer and longer for first stage approval but there has been people on the inland 2011 thread who got first stage approved already and they only submitted their applications in July... Seems to me that July is the lucky month! It really sucks for the rest of us.

Thanks for your support guys. IndianOcean, if you don't mind me asking, what decision did you make then? Did you decide to stay and study your full course? That really threw me off balance though. It's so dumb too because I have to do 1 single damn subject in 1 year.. like for the whole year I'll have to do 1 subject only.. sigh.

SAgirl, where are you from btw? lol. It is hard ja, like I don't even know what to do yet. My fiance asked me the other day what I think we should do and I couldn't give an answer all I could think about is just going there asap.. Well the only time will be June because then we'll have enough money for everything (we're still as you can tell) and also if I do end up studying this coming year then June will be holiday so then I'll be able to go there too. So that's what I was thinking since I am going to have to be here for a while I might as well study the semester, go to Canada, get married and get everything sorted and ready, come back and send the outland application and while we wait I'll study again for like the second semester.

Anyone who has been in South Africa would know how extremely hard it is to get a decent paying job without qualifications especially in and around Cape Town. I'm only 21, so that's another thing that worries me. And it sucks not having a good connections lol like family who could give you a good job everyone is so far away. Anywho trying my best to stay positive and thinking everything through. All I can think now is 'damn it! we should've gotten married a few months ago!' lol.

Hope you guys are doing good though.

Well if for you guys can only be in June next year, then stay there studying and trying to work also in the meanwhile. That's what I did, I had to finnish my University, so we decided to do outland for that reason also, so I could finnish my last year in University and in the meanwhile our application would be worked on. It's hard being apart from wife, but hey its necessary now.

I know how the job situation is in South Africa, same thing here in Mozambique! You gotta always have a good connection,a family member that works in a company that can put you in etc, I know the drill. But well, keep on trying! And Yes, you should have gotten married a few months ago for sure :D but hey, stay positive!

I would love to do that, but honestly, This whole skype thing isn't working out anymore, I could do for 2 years (except the time we were together in person) but now I can't do it anymore, Omg I am sorry for ranting and bringing out personal problems, but the thing is, it's horrible. I've been depressed this whole week I am back because naturally I miss my fiance but the thing that forms the basis of all the stress is that we were in a bad place before where things were horrible and we'd argue a lot because of some trust issues (I don't want to begin explaining this) and I have a fear of things going back to that again. So in the end on skype we argue a lot and I'm just miserable. Sigh, I'm gonna try getting a work visa then applying for spousal.

I’m from a small town in Mpumalanga.. Currently living in Alberta. Yes, it’s very difficult for anyone to find a decent paying job unless you have some contacts. A couple of years ago when I met my husband, I remembered thinking how on earth will we ever be together and went through the same emotions as you are experiencing - yet things worked out pretty good for us! Staying positive is best!! I found Skype to be awesome and yes there was arguments too but at least we could see each other 

Yeah I know how you feel, I went through the same situation. When we fell in love, people would say that we were crazy because she was living in the other side of the planet and that it would never work out. guess what? they were wrong, we got married, we have started building a beautiful life in Quebec, and when I get my visa I'll get to be with my wife again and continue again with our life! It's hard, but you guys just gotta stick together and work together in this difficult time.

It's what I always say to people, if I'm doing all this, it's not because of "CANADA" or because its a nice country to live in etc etc, its all because I love my wife and I wanna be with her, and that's it. If tomorrow she decides to go live in Iraq, I'll follow her. It doesn't matter where, as long I'm with her :)

Thanks guys for the support!

We are talking about it at this very moment. I love my fiance so much, and I too would go wherever my fiance goes. I knew it would take some getting used to after being so damn happy for all these months in Canada and then coming back to this place lol. So it was a little much for me but im sure we'll be just fine . At least mother dear will be happy to see me more often lol

Another South African!

Hi SAgirl... I'm fortunate enough to be applying through a British Passport but i guess the process is the same as far as spousal sponsorship is concerned. We are a month away from each other on the processing and it looks like your time is basically here! I wish you all the best and i'm holding thumbs for you!

cheers
